The Warehouse Manager performs a wide variety of duties to direct, control and coordinate the overall operations of the Warehouse Department. Daily management and ongoing training provided to staff to ensure the efficient operation of the department that contributes to the accuracy and fulfillment of customer orders. Responsibilities include management of all functions of inventory, sanitation, and shipping/receiving; as well as, planning, assigning, and leading the work of others.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Manages and support Warehouse employees including the efficient operation of order picking, checking product for quality and accuracy, filling shorts, loading, and shipping of product and inventory counts.
- Help manage all functions of quality control, sanitation, and stock rotation.
- Ensures completion of and accuracy review of daily and weekly HACCP checklists.
- Develop and maintain an effective department, of 30-50 employees, through ongoing recruitment, training, and assignment of personnel.
- Performs team meetings with employees to review objectives, service levels, quality concerns, productivity, and allocation of duties.
- Guide and provide leadership to the team to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are achieved.
- Regularly review the progress of work in department to ensure that staff are supported, questions have been answered, decisions acted upon, and problems solved.
- Responsible for coordinating and scheduling the timely shipping of product according to customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Supervisors for the daily planning and execution of Warehouse operations across multiple shifts.
- Practice and teach safety on the job as well as work in unison with the Safety Committee to comply with Islands West’s Safety Policies.
- Advise Transportation Manager/Driver Supervisor and Maintenance department of any identified fleet repairs.
- Maintains an awareness of par levels of product and notifies Buyers immediately of any par levels concerns being low stock or slow movement of.
- Work directly with the Operations Manager on improving operations and creating efficient workflows.
- Attends as directed, all training meetings and/or professional development sessions.
- Take direction from the Operations Manager and keep them informed of department activities on an on-going basis.
- Operate or perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

**SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must be available for opening shift with a 4:00 am start time.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, (including evenings and weekends, as required) for 40+ hours/week.

**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**:

- Minimum 3 years previous leadership experience is required.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, mainly excel.
- Basic proficiency with Warehouse Management System is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, direct and train 30-50 staff.
- Ability to safely bend, twist and lift to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
- Maintains forklift and pallet jack certification. (Islands West to Provide)

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Food Safe Level 1 (Islands West will provide).
- Hepatitis A Vaccination (Islands West will provide).
- Must have valid work authorization in Canada.
- As this role is onsite, you must currently reside in Victoria, BC.
