**Job Overview**The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional administrative service, assisting and

providing support to the HR team with respect to recruitment activities, file maintenance and day to day

tasks. The Human Resources Assistant is an active member of a dedicated Human Resources team that

contributes to the Human Resources Strategic Plan.

**Role
**Provide administrative and project support to the HR team; predominately focusing on continuous

maintenance, integrity, and accuracy of electronic personnel files

Assist with all HR related purchases such as office supplies, recruitment postings, etc.

Remain detail orientated when supporting in the processing of new hires, promotions, transfers, and

employee terminations

Support Human Resources Business Partners in recruitment efforts, such as reference checks,

Work closely with the Human Resources Coordinator to ensure all Health & Safety workplace

inspections are being completed and actioned

Assist the Human Resources Coordinator by providing support in regards to staffing changes in order

to provide seamless transitions for new and existing employees

Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas and minutes

Administering written tests for internal and external recruitment purposes

Process confidential information and ensure that deadlines are met and proper documentation is

prepared/maintained and procedures & policies are followed

Maintain knowledge and be current with Human Resources trends and best practices

Provide high level customer service to internal and external stakeholders

Deliver support to the HRIS and maintain system information

Be a team player who actively supports their colleagues

Be an advocate for employee health and wellness and help ensure we meet our obligations within the

OH&SA and other legislation to ensure the safety of self and others

Perform other duties and projects as assigned

**Required Skills**:
**Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management, or equivalent degree and Human

Resources Management post graduate certificate

Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), or working towards designation, and member in

good standing with the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA)

Be detail-oriented, highly organized and have the ability to multi-task

Have the flexibility to travel within our branch network when required

Be a team player, demonstrating a positive attitude

Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills

Appreciate the need to work independently while supporting team members and organizational

objectives

Be quick to respond to requests for service from all stakeholders

Take accountability and inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and be trustworthy

Demonstrate clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations,

legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures

Be proficient in MS Office
