Our Department provides clinical service to over 40 operating rooms daily (37,000 surgical procedures per annum) at both London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) University Hopsital and Victoria Hospital, and St. Joseph's Health Care London. **Responsibilities**: - The Education Assistant works collaboratively with the Postgraduate Education Coordinator, while working under the direction of the Postgraduate Education Program Director and Manager Administration & Finance. Key Goals: - Provide support to residents, medical students and visiting electives students and trainees - Collaborate with Program Directors and other stakeholders to ensure that all programs meet accreditation standards Key Responsibilities: - Responds to inquiries from residents and visiting elective trainees, communicates information, provides a - Works closely with the Education Coordinator to ensure program administrative requirements are met including deadlines and compliance with the policies, practices and procedures relating to medical education and training administration - Provides administrative support in the development of new curriculum and resources including the new requirements for Competency by Design - Assists with Department preparation for future Royal College Accreditation Reviews - Provides general administrative support including preparation of agendas, transcribing minutes of meetings, preparing draft correspondence, maintaining both electronic and paper filing systems on an ongoing basis and other administrative support as required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with learners and colleagues - Positive outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation - Creative problem solving abilities and collaborative approach to resolving issues in a professional and timely manner - Excellent verbal and written communications skills - Self-motivated with strong organizational skills - Ability to work in a fluid and changing environment with numerous competing priorities - Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel as well as Outlook and experience - Attention to detail, accuracy and prioritizing tasks are vital for success Reporting Relationships: - The incumbent's supervisor is the Manager Administration & Finance - The Director of Postgraduate Education Program is the functional supervisor **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
