Chinese Language and Traditional Culture Instructor

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chinese language and traditional culture instructor to join our team on a full-time basis. As an instructor, you will play a crucial role in helping students develop their Chinese language skills and gain an appreciation for Chinese culture.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Chinese language, Chinese studies, teaching, education, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of experience in teaching Chinese language and culture
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials
- Passion for teaching and helping students succeed

- Education to raise awareness of social equity: You have experience incorporating topics related to social equity, such as diversity, inclusion, and social justice, into your teaching, and are committed to raising awareness of these issues among your students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Teach Chinese language and culture: You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and effective instructional materials and methods to help students with various cultural and language backgrounds and different Chinese language levels learn the Chinese language, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Additionally, you will teach students about Chinese traditions and culture, including organizing and holding other activities, events, workshops, etc., to help student learn the language and culture.
- Develop lesson plans: You will prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments based on students' needs, goals, and abilities. You will evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and adapt instructional methods as needed.
- Develop curriculum: You will work to develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses. You will assess student progress and ensure that instructional methods are effective.
- Professional development: You will participate in professional development activities, conferences, and workshops to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge.
- Manage classroom: You will manage classroom activities, such as taking attendance, maintaining records, and communicating with students and parents. You will ensure that the classroom environment is safe, inclusive, and respectful.
- Student support: You will support students who need extra help with their Chinese language skills, and communicate with students' parents to provide updates on their progress.
- Stay current: You will keep up-to-date with current trends, innovations, and best practices in Chinese language and culture teaching, and incorporate new teaching strategies into lessons as appropriate.
- Collaborate with colleagues: You will work collaboratively with other administrators and staff to promote the Chinese language and culture program and ensure its success.
- Administrative duties: You will maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress, as well as perform administrative tasks such as making assessments and reporting assessment results to students and parents.
