Craigdarroch Castle is a National Historic Site located in Victoria British Columbia. This house museum welcomes 150,000 visitors a year for self-guided tours and delivers specialty programs and events. You will be joining a small but growing team of tourism and museum industry professionals supported by a number of volunteers.

The Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society is committed to diversifying its workforce along with its audiences, community partners, and programs. We also strive to be a training ground for new talent.

Reporting to the executive director, the operations and development manager’s responsibility will encompass daily museum operations, business and member development as well as event and program development/management.

You will have demonstrated experience with performance management and coaching. You are able to assess the department’s staffing recruitment and training needs and can collaborate with department heads to ensure necessary support or training is developed and delivered.

Long term planning skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations are important in order to deliver quality seasonal programming and peak season visitor service. You will often be required to be present in the museum to assist during tours and events.

You have proven skill and ability to maintain strong relationships with unionized employees, volunteers, industry partners and the Society’s members as well as a demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

As the successful applicant will, on occasion, be required to travel for business, a valid driver’s license is required. The current work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday with some evening shifts to facilitate events and programs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $73,000.00 per year
