**Job Summary**:
The QA Technician will work in the quality department with a focus on Ensuring the quality of production on a day to day basis through testing, inspecting and measuring as per the Quality Control guidelines. This is a full-time position with a 12-hour continental night shift schedule (7pm - 7am, 7 shifts bi-weekly)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Measure all new start, and in production products, and perform any and all tests on manufactured, trial/complaint samples, and new products, ensuring that they meet all company and third-party standards as outlined in the Quality Control Manual.
- Report all nonconformities to management.
- Accurately document all measuring and testing results and provide management with results.
- Visually inspect daily production as per product classification.
- Printing of all production labels.
- Assist in calibrating and recording in-house instruments and gauges.
- Update and maintain applicable databases.
- Complete last off verifications and data collection.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform a variety of other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Certification through ASQ (i.e CQT or CQI)
- Knowledge and understanding of measuring skills.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Computer knowledge and skills to manoeuvre through computer programs for the use of automated measuring devices and computerized inspection reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft office.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions.

**Working Conditions**

Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in a plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20-50lbs), standing for long periods and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow, bring considerable stresses to this position. The incumbent understands, respects and adheres to the workplace health & safety rules and regulations.
