**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- The Asset Portfolios & Performance (AP&P) team is made up of the Portfolio Optimization &
- Management and the Reliability Performance & Assessment departments. This team is
- responsible for executing BC Hydro’s annual capital planning process, supporting key regulatory- recurring reports/dashboards.
- Reporting to the Technical Strategic Principal, Regulatory, Reliability & Benchmarking, the Asset
- Management Specialist is involved in developing the capital project release plans and managing
- the Project O&M Budget as well as providing advice related to capital planning and asset
- management with a focus on supporting key regulatory filings.
- This role will:
- Lead the project release process, including managing in year releases, supporting quarterly

release planning and establishing the release plan for the upcoming fiscal year, considering
- financial and resource constraints and in alignment with BC Hydro strategic objectives.- Lead the development of the annual budget for the Project O&M Cost Centre (funding for

projects and Integrated Planning studies) and providing support for re-prioritizing funding and
- reporting- Contribute to regulatory activities including preparing internal BC Hydro documentation and-
- Provide expert advice and respond to highly complex queries on capital planning and asset

management, drawing on the expertise of others when needed**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or other
- relevant education- Ten to twelve years of relevant experience demonstrating an ability to take on progressively

more complex aspects of strategic thinking, business process management and decision making- At least six years of experience in roles involving knowledge and understanding of Power

System assets, capital planning, capital project delivery, asset management, project management
- and/or regulatory activities- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Knowledge and understanding of capital planning, asset management, related regulatory

processes and experience providing strategic business advice is preferred- Ability to effectively manage multiple processes and initiatives with deadlines and deliverables
- Well-developed critical thinking skills with an ability to gather information from a variety of

sources, integrate and summarize it for decision makers with appropriate recommendations- Proactive, adaptable to changing needs
- Skilled in building positive business relationships with people at different levels and with

expertise/experience in different areas- Facilitation skills with an ability to both develop consensus and drive results in a multidisciplinary

team setting- Demonstrated ability to document, analyze and improve business processes
- Excellent oral/written communication, presentation and report writing skills and ability to

communicate in both technical and business terms- Project management experience and influencing skills are an asset.
