_**Begonia Bakehouse**_ is an exciting French inspired artisan bakery. We are looking for an experienced Bakery Assistant who is independently motivated and can work as part of a team. Good time management, organizational and communication skills are a must.

**Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Help in the preparation and production of various bakery items.
- Assist with bread production and other pastries within the bakery.
- Assist with making pastry fillings, jams, mayo's, etc.
- Assist with customer service, including taking orders and handling inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery area, including assisting with washing and putting away dishes.
- Follow food safety standards and guidelines during food preparation
- Support the bakers in various tasks as needed
- Operate equipment including; the espresso machine, grinder, bread slicer and other kitchen appliances safely and efficiently.

**Skills**
- Experience or willingness to learn in the food industry
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently and meet production schedules.
- Excellent customer service abilities to interact with patrons and other staff members to meet deadlines
- Basic math skills for measurements and cash handling
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Familiarity with food service operations
- Ability to assist in food preparation task

- Ability to meet daily production requirements

- Ability to maintain professionalism, control and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
- Cleanliness
- Able to lift 20kg repeatedly and able to stand for full shift

**Education**:
High school diploma. Formal baking training is an asset.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a bakery setting would be preferred
- Preparing and baking of pastries and bread, would be preferred but not necessary

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
