**FRONT OF HOUSE SERVER (experience required)**

**Job Overview**
Heart's Tavern (Kimberley, ON) are seeking a dedicated and experienced server to join our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Part-time server with the potential to move into a full-time employee.

**About Heart's Tavern**
- Opened Spring 2021, placing sixth in Air Canada enRoute's 2022 list of best new restaurants
- Regularly updated seasonal menus serving European fare with a focus on local suppliers (including our own garden)
- In house pickling, curing, smoking, butchery
- Wine cellar with a focus on independent suppliers and small scale producers
- Patio, dining room, wine cellar and bar seating

**Responsibilities**
- Greet customer as they enter premises with a warm welcome and see them to a table after checking availability, ensuring any special requirements are actioned.
- Ensure high knowledge and competency with regard all items on the food and beverages menus and both reservation and POS systems
- Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Address guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Support all team members as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Ensure the highest level of customer service is always provided throughout the customer’s entire experience.
- Take customers’ drink and food orders accurately.
- Work with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure food and drink orders are accurately fulfilled.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
- Ensure all food is served to customers in timely fashion and provide with necessary accompaniments and condiments.
- Check that customer has everything they need at relevant intervals.
- Make necessary drinks, operate the coffee machine as required.
- Report restaurant activities to the service manager or General Manager (in escalated situations) including malfunctions, damages, problems, customer grievances, employee grievances etc.
- Ensure proficiency in the ins and outs of all food menus, beverage menus and wine menus and any specials or vocal items.
- Communicate with the kitchen lead/ head chef any questions/concerns regarding menu items, ingredients, allergens etc.
- Be acquainted with all beginning and end of shift to-dos and sign off on them with shift team to ensure proper set up for the next service.
- Take initiative to store deliveries throughout your shift and as soon as possible, paying particular attention to deliveries in the corridor as you travel up and downstairs.
- Communicate any ideas to make service more proficient to service manager/general manager through arranged meetings.
- Contribute to the team effort including assisting other floor staff and bar tenders as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in restaurants as a server is required.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously.
- A commitment to maintaining high performance standards within a tight knit and strong team environment
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, in accordance with health regulations and the company health and safety procedures.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others in a fast-paced environment.
- Benefits after 3-months for eligible employees (20 hours / week minimum)
