We are looking to employ an experienced Concrete Foreman to supervise our concrete laborers and oversee all activities relating to concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter and retaining walls. The responsibilities of the Concrete Foreman include evaluating the performance of the concrete laborers, ensuring that project costs remain within budget, and investigating work-related accidents. You should also be able to manage project materials and resources as well as oversee the use of equipment and tools.

To be successful as a Concrete Foreman, you should be able to correctly interpret blueprints, plans, drawings and standard plans. Ultimately, an exceptional Concrete Foreman should demonstrate excellent management and problem-solving skills as well as enforce compliance with safety regulations.

Concrete Foreman Responsibilities:

- Overseeing all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.
- Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor and materials are required for each stage.
- Resolving all problems that may affect project quality and completion.
- Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
- Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.
- Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the amount of materials used for each project.
- Ensuring that formwork are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
- Inspecting concrete after the formwork have been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness.
- Sets the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and aligns them.
- Checks the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
- Monitors how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
- Applies hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface.
- Chips, scrapes, and grinds high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
- Cuts out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and positions reinforcing rods to repair concrete, using power saw and drill.
- Waterproofs or restores concrete surfaces, using appropriate compounds.
- Wets surface to prepare for bonding, fill holes and cracks with grout or slurry, and smooth, using trowel.
- Fabricates concrete beams, columns, and panels.
- Installs anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete or pattern or stamp the surface to provide a decorative finish.
- Builds wooden molds, and clamp molds around area to be repaired, using hand tools.
- Lays out wall patterns or foundations, using straight edge, rule, or staked lines.
- Shapes, trims, faces and cuts marble or stone preparatory to setting.
- Sets vertical and horizontal alignment of structures.
