**Position Summary**
The Program Facilitator/Employment Supports will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering employment training sessions for persons facing barriers to employment. This role requires an individual who can create an inclusive learning environment while supporting participants in building essential skills and confidence to transition to meaningful employment opportunities.
This role is a 12 month contract at 30 hours per week.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Lead group workshops on job readiness, resume building, interview preparation, and workplace skills.
- Manage group dynamics to foster an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Engage diverse groups with strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Provide expertise in job search tools, resume writing, interview techniques, and workplace expectations.
- Understand barriers to employment and offer accommodation or support for client needs.
- Track client progress and adapt programs to meet individual employment goals.
- Ensure all activities and resources are accessible, utilizing assistive technologies when needed.
- Research job opportunities and industries that align with clients' skills and career interests.
- Collaborate with Employment Coordinators to ensure appropriate referrals and intake assessments for program participants.
- Conduct job readiness assessments and assist participants with resume building, interview preparation, and goal setting.
- Monitor participant progress and provide feedback and coaching to build confidence and skills.
- Maintain program records, including attendance, progress reports, and follow-up documentation
- Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined by Meta Vocational Services and funding agreements
- Prepare reports and generate statistical data related to the program.
- Collaborate with community agencies, government officials, and other staff to provide guidance on employment-related services and social programs.
- Promote the agency through participation in community events, board memberships, and professional associations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and Educational Requirements**
- Completion of a post-secondary education in social services, developmental services, or related
- Minimum of 2 years related experience supporting, mentoring or counselling
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong attention to detail and follow up to ensure seamless continuum of employment services
- Strong analytical skills demonstrating a proactive approach to problem solving
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Understanding of federal, provincial and municipal programs and services, eligibility and guidelines
- Familiar with community social services networks and knowledge of Ontario Social Assistance and supports; sound understanding of employment-related legislation and issues
- Ability to multitask and work well in stressful, sometimes crisis, situations
- Must be able to travel frequently to various locations for work
- Valid Ontario drivers’ license, up-to-date vehicle insurance and access to a vehicle
**Additional Notes**
- Travel outside the office will be necessary
- May require non-standard working hours (evenings & weekends)
- Must have the ability to work from home as needed
