Cannabis Retail Manager

**Requirements and qualifications**
- Must have clean criminal background check
- Must possess or be able to successfully obtain the Ontario Cannabis Retail Manager Licence
- Must have valid Ontario CannSell Certificate
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in the retail or related service industry
- 3 years of work experience in supervisory/management role
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the cannabis industry
- Sound knowledge of Cannabis retail products, plants and different strains of Cannabis is a must
- Knowledge of the Cannabis Retail Store laws as set by AGCO
- Previous experience in hiring, training, scheduling and management of staff
- Detail-oriented and able to handle cash and operate a POS register
- Must be technologically proficient in using tablets, Microsoft Office and social media and have previous experience with process management and inventory control
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently/unsupervised
- Education in business administration, sales or relevant field is desirable
- Exemplary communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record with demonstrated sales and customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to work rotating shifts including, days, nights, holidays and weekends

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Manage day-to-day store operations
- Ensure POS transactions and end of day cash reconciliation is accurate and follow-up and any discrepancies
- Ensure daily balance of funds takes place and follow-up on any discrepancies including cash drops to the bank
- Maintain control of store inventory file in POS system
- Manage and control damages and inventory adjustments
- Complete and submit monthly regulatory compliance reports to the AGCO
- Manage staff scheduling and weekly payroll reporting
- Monitor cannabis inventory levels and perform purchasing and receiving function
- Hire, train, develop, supervise and manage all employees including ensuring that all hired staff have valid Ontario CanSell Certificate
- Coordinate with licensed producers to set up product displays and in-store activations
- Work with owners to design and implement customer retention and satisfaction strategies, marketing campaigns, and other ad hoc projects
- Troubleshoot in-store -issues as needed
- Ensure all customers entering the store are of legal age
- Ensure store security systems are operational and utilized when necessary to investigate security or shrink concerns
- Carry out all store audits to maintain accuracy and compliance to AGCO and company standards
- Manage and monitor sales reports to identify fast and slow-moving product.
- Recommend and execute sales promotions when needed while ensuring adequate gross margins are maintained
- Coach and direct team members to carry out their daily duties including ensuring that staff activities and responsibilities are adequately delegated
- Own and mange the delivery ordering process including driver management
- Maintain a clean and tidy salesfloor from open to close ensuring that high touch areas are frequently sanitized for Covid-19 risks
