**The Colchester East Hants After School Committee** is recruiting After School Program Leaders for the 2024 fall session. Recreation departments from five municipalities in Colchester East Hants are partnering with the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education to deliver fun, interactive programs in eleven schools within the region.

**About the role**:After School Program Leaders play a strong role in the design, promotion, and delivery of After School Programs for youth age ranges very from 7-14. The Programs are physical activity-focused, with elements of play, self-leadership, and teamwork. The Programs are based on outdoor play, games, skill building and nature awareness activities. These positions require individuals who are interested in learning new skills around youth engagement and delivering quality programs, promoting an active lifestyle.

**Salary: $16.50/hour**

**This position does not qualify for benefits, pension, or paid time off.**

**Requirements**:

- Understanding of risk management and delivery of safe programs
- Clear Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Registry Checks are a condition to start employment
- Current CPR/First Aid Certificates, an asset
- Volunteer or work experience that involves children/youth, an asset
- Reliable transportation to the school. Effort will be made to convenience Leaders with a school assignment in or near their preferred geographic location.

**This is a part-time temporary position
- approximately 2 hours a day from 2:00pm-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday.**

**The program lasts 6 weeks, beginning approximately in mid-October.**
