**About the Opportunity**:
The NZ Manager, in collaboration with the Director of Operations, Director of Policy & Planning, Senior Director, and Senior Medical Director will provide leadership in maintaining strategic focus of the provincial program while establishing the program as a provincial and national leader; specifically supports the development, implementation and monitoring of the approved strategic directions for the program. This includes oversight of four geographically dispersed work places across the Northern Zone (Amherst, Springhill, Truro, and Pictou). This is accomplished by establishing and maintaining strategic alliances and building collaborative working relationships with many external agencies and stakeholders (e.g. not-for profit agencies, industry partners, community partners, federal and provincial government departments, district health authority partners).

This position is responsible for providing leadership in collaboration with other Renal Program Managers in the planning, organizing, implementing, controlling, administrating, integrating and evaluating of all activities of the Renal program in accordance with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia Nursing Standards, Canadian Association of Nephrology Nursing and Technologist Standards of Practice, and established policies and procedures reflecting the philosophy and mission of Nova Scotia Health. Also responsible for:

- Lead Infrastructure projects to meet renal care needs
- Procurement/contract development
- Safe quality care for all patients with chronic renal disease
- Workplace that is safe for patients and staff
- Providing leadership and support to a diverse staff in harmonized work environment
- Fostering an environment that encourages continued learning
- Cost effective care

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Discipline required, Master’s Degree preferred
- Must be registered with the professional college of relevant health discipline or eligible for registration
- Three (3) years clinical experience managing teams within a unionized environment.
- Previous Nephrology and Dialysis experience preferred
- Experience developing and facilitating strategies consistent with the principles of Organizational Health.
- Demonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum.
- Demonstrated commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated regular attendance in current and previous employment.
- Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as managing multiple priorities, time-sensitive deadlines, stressful situations, working flexible/extended hours and travelling within and outside NSH as necessary.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
