The Wind Turbine Construction Manager will be responsible for management from site acquisition to commercial operation of small to large wind or solar power plant, battery energy storage, and green hydrogen.
This position is located on our Halifax, NS, office.
What You will Be Working On- Create and update schedules, budgets, and spend forecasts.- Responsible to secure land rights; Land lease negotiation and liaison with landowners, agents, and solicitors.- Engaging and managing consultants and review of expert studies and impact assessments.- Consultation with local government councils, grid operators and statutory bodies.- Liaison with local communities, consultees, and other stakeholders.- Public relations including holding open houses and conducting public consultation.- Answering internal and external inquiries related to planning and technical project issues.-
- Close cooperation with and reporting to Atlantic management.
What We Are Looking For- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.- Must complete a satisfactory criminal background check.- Must be available to work overtime and regularly travel out of town for extensive periods (up to 10 weeks).- Must be able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam.- Must have a valid driver’s license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.- 5+ years of experience working in renewable energy, power and/or utility on complex projects including project management, coordination or oversight- Enthusiastic about the future of renewable energies and dedicated to pursuing a career in sustainable energy- An academic degree preferably with a discipline in sustainable energy, planning, engineering or finance- Strong knowledge of provincial and Canadian legislation regarding renewable energy development- Ability to accurately record and prepare technical documentation- Excellent English language skills (required), fluent in German/French is preferred- Proven ability to perform interdisciplinary work- Strong entrepreneurship and negotiation skills, especially when dealing with landowners and consultants- Willing to travel throughout Canada on a regular basis- Interested in working with in an international team
