We are seeking a proactive and detail orientated **Pipelayer/Labourer** **(PL)** to join our team.
As an **Pipelayer/Labourer** **(PL)** and a member of the team, you will be responsible for digging trenches and laying pipes in various sites. This position does not manage employees.
This role supports and may work for company affiliates and subsidiaries within the Klondike Group of Companies, as requested and/or required.

**Pipe Laying**
- Responsible for repairing and installing water lines, sewer lines and water meters.
- Provide service to broken water and sewer lines.
- Install and repair manholes.
- Maintains area around pump stations and pipelines.
- Tap main water line and provide water service to individual meters
- Cut brush and clear ground around pipes.
- Maintain surface pipe using pick, steel brush, and spray gun.
- Assist in carrying and laying of feeder pipes.
- Digging trenches using hand and machine trenching tools
- Clean precipitates such as catch basin and grit chambers using shovel, rake and hand pump
- Report to supervisor on areas worked as directed.
- Run hand tools
- Experience in earth works
- Soil compacting, moving rock or gravel
- Deep Excavation experience
- Experience working around contaminated soils
- Remediation / excavation

**General Labourer**
- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use
- Load and unload construction supplies from trucks manually or using equipment
- Demolition
- Safely run a jackhammer, coring machine, and other construction equipment as requested
- Use knowledge of rigging and rigging signals
- Other duties, as required

**Required Experience & Skills**
- 3-5+ years’ construction pipelaying experience.
- Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset
- Demonstrated success in effectively mentoring and managing a team
- Strong work ethic, highly motivated and enjoys a challenge
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office, accounting, and bookkeeping software
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach
- Solution-focused with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and allocate time/resources accordingly
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
- Excellent physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects
