Internal controls & Process Improvement Business Analyst

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in strategic vision for SOX compliance and ensure timely execution of such strategy including but not limited to creating the initial framework and test methodology
- Develop comprehensive documentation of business processes, identifying internal controls including preventative, detective, and compensating controls
- Member of a team that designs, tests and implements financial process improvements, focusing on standardization, simplification, automation and risk mitigation
- Monitor change in business processes and systems to ensure timely updating of key controls
- Address internal control gaps as needed and partner with control owners on remediation steps
- Create testing calendar and ensure timely completion of SOX testing
- Develop and conduct compliance audits, program evaluations and reviews to drive results with the fortitude to ensure change is permanent
- Integral team member for the finance team during the implementation of the new ERP system, Oracle Fusion
- Drive value stream mapping to define “as-is analysis” and the transition to “future state”
- Active participant in ERP deployment-user acceptance testing, troubleshooting, cutover, etc.
- Ensure proper controls implemented during ERP system implementation and go forward state
- Support/change management plans and training plans to ensure new processes are implemented in an optimal fashion, supporting the organization through the various stages of change

**Requirements**:

- CPA auditor or public accounting experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience
- SOX experience, solid grasp of internal controls and SOX 404 compliance
- Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement concepts, principles and practices.
- Experience in managing/collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and customer orientation.
- Ability to build relationships of trust and exert influence; ability to negotiate
- Excellent analytical skills, creativity, and initiative
- Analytical skills and judgment to solve problems
- Organized and able to react to the challenges of a rapidly changing environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills; Preparing a concise presentation
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, oral and written
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite software (mainly Excel & PowerPoint, with advanced use)
