**Nature of work**:
Reporting to the Manager, Finance and Admin, this role is also accountable for administrative and financial support, program support, service coordination, and special projects for all student support services (such as, but not limited to, Student Accessibility Services and Test Centre, Student Mental Health Services, Student Learning Centre, Career Centre, Student Engagement and Equity, Indigenous Student Services, Athletics, Finance and Administration, Communications and Assessment and the Office of Student Life). The SLSC collaborates closely with students, parents, staff, faculty, employers, community agencies and other external partners to coordinate student development and transition programming.

**Responsibilities/accountabilities**:
1.Responsibility: Student Intake and Triage
- First point of contact for student support
- Stabilize student(s) presenting with conditions of distress, crisis, signs of trauma, revealing risk of self-harm, etc.
- Advising students on available resources
- Ensuring appropriate documentation is received; including intake and signed consent forms, psycho-educational assessment and other supporting documentation
- All other related aspects of student intake and triaging including front counter services

2. Responsibility: Administrative and Financial Support
- Assist with tracking and reconciliation of grants, donations, and ancillary services
- Providing support for expenses/invoices and BMO/concur reconciliation to all staff in Student Life, if needed
- Attendance reporting and management, as required
- Providing administrative reports as needed
- Assist in coordinating arrangements for recruitment and onboarding of new staff, staff departures, and other HR changes, as required
- Supporting the University Works program
- Provide feedback on process improvement
- All other related duties as required

3.Responsibility: Service Coordination
- Educating students, faculty and visitors about the various programs and student supportservices, special events, policies and procedures
- Support staff on operational procedures (and related systems), as require
- Research and develop best practices that support a holistic student experience
- Participation in cross functional working groups/committees
- Assisting with system and legal audits

4.Responsibility: Data Collection and Reporting
- Managing file retention and destruction
- Coordinating the safe transfer of sensitive documentation to internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze data sets to help resolve administration issues and inform procedural recommendations
- Collect and report statistical data as needed

5.Responsibility: Program Administration and Special Projects
- Provides logístical support for events and programs as needed
- Participating in student facing events, as needed
- Internal Student Life committee work

**Required Skills**:

- Work independently, excellent communication skills including negotiating and/or counseling, problem resolution

**Required Education**:

- Completion of a Formal Post-Secondary/College Program of Two Academic Years or Equivalent
- Preferably in business admin, science, medical admin, office admin, or social services
- Combination of education and experience maybe considered
- Verification of Academic credentials may be required

**Required Experience**:

- 1-3 years of relevant experience preferably in social, medical or human service field providing client support; managing distress and crisis situations
