Vallen currently has a permanent full-time opening for a **Buyer in our Edmonton Corporate Office**.

**Scope of Position**:
Responsible for the Purchasing of product, services and supplies in accordance with prescribed purchasing policies and procedures - while ensuring & maintaining acceptable Key Performance Indicators.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Enter RMPO in system with RGA and communicate/monitor/follow-up with Warehouse
- Run and/or schedule all vendor PO Replenishment Reports (RARR)
- Generate Purchase Orders
- Execute seasonal /volume buys (negotiated by the Category Managers)
- Verify vendor PO Acknowledgement/Confirmations
- Creation & Maintain Product Lines (ICSL)
- Expedite past due Pos
- Update lead times into the CDC
- Resolve AP Discrepancies
- Purchase Services Parts for branch
- Creation & Maintain Product Lines (ICSL) - ICAR as well - Purchasing lead
- Execute New product set-up approved by Category Managers
- Enter Product Change/Supersedes/Subs/Alternates - ICSEC (approved by Category Managers)
- if mass upload required goes to purchasing lead
- sharepoint and advising the sales team

**Education, Training and Experience**
- Require knowledge and expertise in the Principles and Practices of Purchasing & Inventory Management - Utilizing these skills within an ERP system to meet the needs and expectations of both external and internal customers.
- Preferably a University/College Graduate with 3-5 years of Purchasing experience
- SCMA Accreditation or working towards accreditation is preferred
- Exceptional computer skills which includes MS Office and Power Point. Knowledge of COGNOS and Visio data bases would be an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group.
- Understanding and working knowledge of Purchasing and Distribution Management Systems (Experience with SX Enterprise Trend System an asset).
- Industry experience & product knowledge is preferred
