**Position**

Buyer Assistant, Edmonton

**Location and Reporting Structure**

Reporting to the Team Lead, Purchasing, this position will be based in Edmonton, Canada

**Responsibilities**
- Review and prioritize procurement requests (PRs) generated by SAP MRP based on operational needs and distribute them to Buyers accordingly;
- Support the preparation, submission, and review of Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and assist with supplier follow-ups to confirm pricing, delivery, and order status;
- Maintain accurate procurement records in SAP and shared databases, ensuring purchase orders are properly closed for traceability and audit readiness;
- Assist in resolving shipment discrepancies by verifying packing lists and preparing documentation for SAP uploads;
- Identify and recommend improvements to PR consolidation, supplier communication, and overall procurement efficiency; and
- Adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s Health and Safety standards, Company policies, and department rules and procedures

**Desired Competencies and Requirements**
- Minimum of one (1) year of direct procurement experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume with a preference for those with mining, construction, or heavy industry;
- Post-secondary diploma in procurement, supply chain, business, commerce, or related; and
