Adventure Construction, part of the Terus Construction Group., is seeking an Excavator Operator in Prince Rupert at our Quarry Operation. Terus Construction Ltd. is a leader in the construction industry in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.

**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Foreman you will be required to work in a rock quarry environment and load trucks with shot rock, rip rap and various other materials.

**Responsibilities**:

- Must be able to operate an excavator with a high level of skill in all aspects of quarrying.
- Comply with applicable mines regulations and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain daily logs, inspection logs and other necessary paperwork.
- Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
- Other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience running large excavators in rock quarry
- Valid class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
- Some mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of applicable safety legislation and ability to perform pre and post trip equipment checks.
- Ability to identify safety hazards.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more, ability to work in extreme weather conditions, confined space & heights, and possess the required PPE and steel-toed work shoes.
- First Aid & WHMIS certificates are considered and asset.
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

**Terms of Employment**:
Permanent - full-time (Overtime, week-ends, days & nights) and requires on call availability as business
