We are a small office with a tightly knit group of co-workers in the midst of expansion and will be moving to a new office space in Markham

**The Role**

**What you'll be doing**
- Evaluate new Infrastructure technologies and products that align with the strategic roadmap for Venture’s IT Infrastructure
- Monitor new technical trends and change or develop services and tools to make use of them
- Establish best practices for internal and client systems to ensure high standards of security and reliability
- Identify and eliminate security risks
- Provide support and guidance to other technical employees
- Plan, design and co-ordinate the development, installation, integration and operation of computer and network systems
- Design solutions that effectively integrate into existing infrastructure and meet client requirements
- Create and maintain documentation related to technology standards, infrastructure architecture, best practices and deployment frameworks
- Investigate, analyze and acquire appropriate automation and systems to support the business and enhance efficiencies
- Automate whenever possible using various programming languages and RMM tools
- Perform remote and on-site tech support of hardware, software and network issues for various clients
- Proactively monitor ticketing system to ensure timely resolution of client tech support issues
- Work with assigned project leads and project managers, working assigned tasks and within defined project scope and milestones to ensure the successful deployment of projects for our clients
- Assist the project management team with creating IT proposals and plans
- Perform additional duties as directed by management in relation to your area of expertise

**What are the requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or a related field of study or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining technical architectures & standards
- At least 10 years of experience in building/administering/monitoring Linux/Windows servers and virtual infrastructure
- At least 10 years of experience in building/administering/monitoring network infrastructure
- Cisco CLI knowledge is an asset
- Ability to code in one or more of the following languages: Python, C#, JavaScript, or PowerShell
- Experience working with databases, source control and APIs
- Any Azure/Linux/Windows/VMware/Cisco/Security Certifications are an asset, but not required
