Scheduling Coordinator

Reporting to the Manager, Records & Scheduling, the Coordinator is a key administrative role that facilitates the daily functions and operations of the Scheduling Office. The incumbent works with the Manager to operationalize new processes and system changes, providing clarification and guidance to Scheduling Technicians on day-to-day activities in order to meet deadlines.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provides consultative services to management, staff, and key academic stakeholders related to the end-to-end flow of the global scheduling function.
- Drives a variety of projects to uphold and implement business strategies while anticipating issues, trends and negative consequences associated with change requests.
- Coordinates the end-to-end flow of the global scheduling function and direct other staff in the scheduling of multiple programs in shared space for classes, labs, and tutorials.
- Audits and evaluates the work of others to identify knowledge gaps.
- Exercises sound judgment in meeting program areas’ needs and considers multiple priorities.
- Communicates effectively with Department Heads and Associate Deans regarding scheduling work.
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Experience in the use of scheduling software (preferably Infosilem) for the purpose of maintaining and using electronic scheduling information
- Experience in the use of PeopleSoft or another integrated student information system for purpose of maintaining and using electronic student records information
- Well-developed communication skills (oral, written and listening skills), including the ability to effectively communicate information in a considerate and professional manner
- Ability to plan, and effectively manage a high volume of work with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to implement business decisions based on established criteria and scheduling standards
- Ability to escalate anticipated issues, trends, and negative consequences associated with change requests and class additions
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree required
- 3 - 5 years experience in a post-secondary scheduling office required.
- 1 - 2 years experience with supervising, coaching, and employee development
- Equivalencies may be considered
**Remuneration**:$2,424.84 - $3,259.69 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Admin Officer II).
- This position is covered by the AUPE (Alberta Union of Provincial Employees) Collective Agreement._
