Job Responsibilities: - Assisting children and youth ages 5-18 with a sign language, ASL is required*. - Plan and implement stimulating, creative, age-specific, social, educational and recreational activities based on the needs of the individual. - Provide a stimulating and creative program based on children and youth’s needs. - Work with the individual and their communication skills while remaining aware of each individual’s needs. - Form a positive relationship with children and youth and be a role model while demonstrating strong leadership skills. - Demonstrate the ability to work in harmony with the children's and youth and be able to work independently. - Able to assist the children after school in their home from Monday-Friday - Other Duties assigned. **Job Type**: - Monday-Friday,4:00pm-8:00pm Job Qualifications: Work Experience - 1+ years of relevant experience working as a Child Youth Worker (CYW). - Experience working as Child youth worker with individual clients. Certification - Child Youth Worker(CYW) diploma or degree from a recognized college and/or university. - Valid Vulnerable Sector Check < 6 months. - Standard First Aid CPR (Class C) certificate and CPI. - Up-to-date TB immunization record. - Covid - 19 vaccination(3 doses). Language Skills - Ability to communicate in English, Arabic and ASL, sign Language (required*). - Ability to will communicate in required language skills is required*. Transferable Skills - Ability to comply with standard policies/ procedures and ensure safe work practices. - Excellent written and verbal English, Arabic and ASL skills is required*. - Excellent organizational and administrative skills. - Positive and sensitive attitude towards children and staff. - Physically able to participate with children in door and outdoors. - Basic ability to use technology (including smart phones, computers, tablets). - Flexible and energetic approach to work. - Well-developed problem-solving skill. - Proven leadership abilities.
