The Lake Louise Ski Area Ltd is currently seeking a Manager for our backcountry Lodge. Skoki Lodge is a national heritage site, situated in the beautiful high alpine region of Banff National Park. At an elevation of 7,100 feet (2,164 meters) the lodge is accessible to guests by hiking or skiing the 11km trail that begins at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. Built in 1930, the main lodge and surrounding cabins provide a rustic backcountry experience for 22 guests. Those staying at Skoki lodge are also treated to amazing food prepared in the main lodge.

**Responsibilities**:

- The Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lodge ensuring that the highest level of service and guest satisfaction is achieved through analyzing and resolving service problems; identifying trends and recommending system improvements
- Accomplish positive staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching employees; enforcing policies, developing and coordinating procedures, and productivity standards.
- Accomplish financial objectives and strategic goals by forecasting requirements; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Assisting in the procurement of operating supplies, equipment, and contracting with third-party vendors for essential services
- Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of water quality, food handling, garbage handling, WCB, OH&S and wildlife encounters in accordance with LLSA policies and standards set out by governing agencies.
- Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of Skoki Lodge in accordance with Parks Canada and Lake Louise Ski Area standards.

**Job Requirements/Qualifications**:

- A keen outdoor enthusiast with knowledge of local flora and fauna
- Enthusiastic hiker, and cross country skier with backcountry touring experience
- Willingness to work in a team environment with and live in this beautiful remote location
- Good knowledge of the local area and history
- Comfortable operating a Lodge with limited modern amenities (e.g wood fire places, kerosene candles and a satellite phone are still a part of daily the operations at Skoki Lodge)
- Highly organized with strong communication skills
- Previous backcountry lodge experience considered an asset
- Previous cook or chef experience considered an asset
