Here's how a(n) Materials Coordinator contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:

- Validate item library and bill of material data received from internal and external sources and create in material management system.
- Generate requisitions for temporary materials and services, expedites approvals, and distributes to procurement for action.
- Expedite outstanding or overdue purchase orders.
- Receive logistics information for incoming freight received from client, suppliers, or carriers; notify operations personnel of incoming loads and provide details as needed.
- Generate and / or close system transactions for temporary, permanent materials and equipment such as: Purchase Orders for client or engineering supplied materials and equipment; Material Received Reports (MRR); Over, Short, and Damage (OS&D) reports; Inventory Change Records; Pick Tickets; Transfers / Shipments; etc.
- Coordinate OS&D resolution with client, project team, procurement and supplier as needed.
- Complete preservation, preventative maintenance, and certification transactions. Coordinate preventative maintenance, service, repair, and re-certifications.
- Coordinate inventory and disposition of surplus material, equipment, and temporary facilities needing return for credit, transfer to client, or demobilization. Dispatch carriers for shipments off site.
- Generate, distribute, and file material management reports.
- Train other material coordinators, tradespeople, project coordinators, and other staff on material management procedures, project plans, and systems. Provide ongoing support and instruction to tradespeople assigned to perform activities in warehouse(s), toolcrib(s), and laydown yard(s).
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Construction trade certification with related experience, 3 years of project based or industry related supply chain experience, and / or post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management or other construction related field preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of construction specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge of commonly used construction materials, services, tools, and equipment.
- Basic understanding of project life cycle, supply chain lifecycle, storage facility management, logistics, and material distribution.
- Strong verbal and written (expression and comprehension) communication skills. Can develop and maintain effective relationships.
- Strong work ethic, time management skills, and sense of urgency. Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Demonstrates leadership, identifies areas for change, works with others to solve problems, develops others, and holds themselves and others accountable.
- Strong computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office software with an aptitude for adopting new technology and systems and experience with material management systems is an asset.
