**About the role**:
Canada Compliance Programs & Governance is looking for a Compliance Analyst to join their dynamic team, reporting to the Director, Canada Compliance. The individual will provide analytical and administrative support for the Canada Compliance programs. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a variety of Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) activities and program management, while working closely with their Programs & Governance peers and Canada’s Business Unit Compliance Officer (BUCO) Teams, among others.

The incumbent will need familiarity with the activities of a Compliance function in a large financial institution. Knowledge of insurance and securities regulators is an asset.

**What will you do?**
- Coordinates the Annual Canada Compliance Monitoring & Testing (M&T) Calendar, including scheduling of all engagement touchpoints, tracking current status of activities, escalating delays and other concerns, preparing recurring and ad hoc reporting.
- Supports the Managers, Compliance Testing and Director, Canada Compliance with development of the Annual M&T Calendar by analyzing Regulatory Compliance Risk Assessment information and historical testing activities, consulting with BUCO Teams.
- Assists the Managers, Compliance Testing with documentation of Testing activities, including input of Workpapers, Testing Plans and any identified Issues to Sun Life’s Governance, Risk & Compliance tool, RSA Archer.
- Provides back-up to the Manager, Regulatory Compliance and Reporting for daily regulatory change activities, including horizon scanning using Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence, input to RSA Archer and communication to BUCO Teams and other Sun Life partners.
- Maintains the regulatory inventory library for the Canada BG, coordinating timely updates to RSA Archer and performing validation activities.

- Supports the RCM Policy framework, including development and maintenance of any Canada BG Operating Guidelines and procedures, coordinating all requests for feedback on RCM materials from the Enterprise Compliance team.
- Represents Canada Compliance and provides support to ensure Sun Life expectations are met for Business Continuity Management (BCM), Records Management, among other activities.
- Maintains the Canada Compliance SharePoint site, solicits feedback on same, recommends and implements enhancements.
- Organizes work, tracks and communicates progress against milestones and overall status.

**What do you need to succeed?**
- 3-6 years of experience in a Compliance function in a large financial institution
- College diploma or University degree
- Excellent analytical skills (planning, quantitative skills, attention to detail and quality standards)
- Dependable with ability to manage and prioritize high work volumes during peak periods (annual planning, quarterly reporting cycles, etc.)
- Ability to identify problem areas and propose changes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with Compliance colleagues and leadership
- Ability to source and interpret regulatory requirements and related industry standards
- Focus on shared outcomes with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience using SharePoint and OneNote

**Preferred Skills**:

- Solid understanding of the RCM lifecycle and program elements
- Knowledge of securities and insurance products and their regulators
