**REPORTS TO**: Manager, Stakeholder & Rightsholder Engagement

**TYPE**: Full-time, permanent; 40 hours/week

**LOCATION**: This work will involve flexible working arrangements with work required at the Creative Fire offices, from home and occasional travel to client locations may be required.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic direction and guidance internally and with clients on the development and implementation of culturally appropriate and collaborative Indigenous engagement programs
- Plans and supports the design and implementation of digital and in-person Indigenous engagement activities including the selection of approaches, tools, and techniques.
- Facilitates meetings with Indigenous Rightsholders, stakeholders and public as well as client teams.
- Assists with coordinating logistics, taking notes, entering data, and updating documents to support effective engagement.
- Gathers, analyzes, and synthesizes engagement data into comprehensive reports, ensuring results can be applied to decision-making processes.
- Stays current on latest trends and best practices, provide insight and guidance to leadership, other teams and colleagues on topics related to community engagement and public participation.
- Reviews and contributes to communications strategies, campaigns, and assets to support Indigenous engagement.
- Some field work and travel will be required. A valid drivers license, and clean driving abstract will be required.

- You are passionate about meaningful Indigenous participation and have valuable insight from your involvement in Indigenous engagement processes to bring forward.
- You are a capable facilitator, with experience planning and delivering meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders in a culturally appropriate and safe way.
- You are driven to understand client needs and develop solutions that exceed expectations.
- You build collaborative relationships with coworkers, clients, and stakeholders, communicating clearly and effectively.
- You are a strategic thinker with advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- You can write quickly, clearly, and strategically, with appropriate styles for different audiences, researching and incorporating relevant information and best practices.
- You are adaptable - you have an open-mind and flexible approach, changing course as needed and jumping in to assist colleagues with other priorities as needed.
- You are organized, focused and able to manage multiple clients and projects, prioritizing assignments and managing workload proactively. You take initiative, seeking direction when you need it.
- You have proven experience building trusted relationships with Indigenous partners and communities, using a collaborative approach to advance common goals, and considering cultural and community differences, priorities, and capacity.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma or degree in social sciences, planning, communications, community development, public administration or policy, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience OR no post-secondary education and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Directly related experience must include planning and implementing Indigenous consultation and engagement strategies or Indigenous program or policy development.
- Training by the International Association of Public Participation or other formal training in public engagement is an asset.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and highly dynamic work environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in Indigenous issues in Canada, including Indigenous governance, community development, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action.
- You have a strong connection to Indigenous communities and cultures; Indigenous lived experience is strongly preferred.
