The Procurement Services branch provides open and transparent procurement practices, presents options to meet complex procurement service challenges, and builds relationships while working closely with all ministries and departments to meet their needs for cost effective and high-quality procurement services in a fair and equitable manner. Procurement Services also provides services related to corporate purchasing, warehousing services and surplus sales, inter-provincial trade, vendor relationship management.

Within Procurement Services, Surplus Sales and Warehousing is accountable for three distinct areas: enterprise-wide management and disposition of surplus assets in accordance with the Government Organization Act, warehousing and distribution services, and the administration (as “registrar”) of the Abandoned and Seized Vehicle Program (ASVP) in accordance with applicable legislation on behalf of Transportation and Economic Corridors.

As the Northern Region Coordinator, you will play a critical, hands-on role in overseeing the delivery of the Surplus Sales and Abandoned and Seized Vehicle Programs (ASVP) for Northern Alberta (North of Lacombe to NWT border). The position ensures effective, accountable, and value-driven service delivery, while promoting continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.

As the Northern Region Coordinator, you are a front-facing, Enterprise-wide service provider that also serves external industry, law enforcement, the broader public service (BPS), and Albertan stakeholder groups. To be successful in this, a professional demeanor and strong communication skills are required. The critical function of this role is the development and maintenance of a team with a high-functioning culture of customer service excellence for clients.

**Your responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to**:

- Operational oversight of Surplus Sales and ASVP programs.
- Staff supervision, development and performance management including front-line leadership and hands-on supervision.
- Accountability for program efficiency and effective delivery, budget adherence, forecasting needs communication, and financial oversight to ensure programs provide value to the public.
- Advancing strategic initiatives that improve service quality, generate value, and align with sustainability goals.
- Stakeholder engagement and program education.
- Supporting long-term program success through planning, oversight, and continuous improvement.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**
A two-year diploma (in business, commerce, or public administration, etc) supplemented by five years progressively responsible experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

**Equivalencies may be considered**:

- University degree and a minimum of three (3) years related experience.
- Certificate and a minimum of six (6) years related experience.
- No education (High School Diploma) and a minimum of seven (7) years experience.
