Rogers is seeking a **Manager, Construction Cable**, to be based out of the Rogers Office in Barrie, Ontario.
The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Network Implementation department that deals with the outside plant construction and commissioning work of the Rogers network. Projects relating to greenfield and brownfield FTTH deployment, outside plant relocations projects, new commercial area expansion, and RF plant uplifts.
To carry out this responsibility, the Manager will oversee Construction Technicians and Implementation Specialists, who are responsible for the successful implementation of the delivery described above. The Manager will also deal with 3rd party Construction Contracting companies that Rogers uses to complete the aerial and buried plant construction work.
**What you will be doing**:
- Assign construction work to staff and contractors relating Plant relocations, Pole transfers, and Commercial plant extensions.
- Assist Construction Technicians in prioritizing and managing workloads, relating to New Area Construction, Plant relocations, Pole transfers, and Commercial plant extensions.
- Ensure Rogers HFC network construction guidelines are met on all projects.
- Ensure all network construction work meets CSA standards, ESA standards and Utility and local municipality standards.
- Provide quality control and assurance of completed projects.
- Review, approve, and process Purchase Orders, Invoices and Change Orders as required.
- Review RPATS milestones, data, and monthly reports to ensure projects are proceeding on schedule.
- Liaise with Technical Operations, Customer Service, Maintenance and Construction departments as well as, contractors, property owners, municipalities and local utilities.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in interpreting policy in the planning and implementation of work.
- Learn and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy.
- Exercise leadership by coaching of employees, conducting performance reviews, merit planning and training.
- Responsible for dealing with staff disciplinary issues, and making hiring and salary change recommendations.
- Support on-call Technicians and assist management team to provide 24/7 coverage for fiber related network issues.
**What you will bring**:
- Progressive experience in all aspects of CATV or telecommunications construction practices and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills along with the ability to comfortably excel while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of CSA standards, related municipal by-laws, regulations and utility standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Knowledge of RF and fibre optic network architectures.
- Demonstrated skills in project management, RPATS and software-based spreadsheets and databases would be an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project).
- Working knowledge and experience with ESA 22/04 standards.

- Post-secondary diploma in one of the following is preferred: Electronics Technology, Data Communications or Civil Technology.
