The company conducts business in three metals distribution segments: metals service centers, energy products and steel distributors.

Russel Metals is currently seeking an individual for the position of **Quality Assurance Technician **to work out of our** B&T Steel Branch** in** **Stoney Creek, ON**. This is a full-time, salaried position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all hold product is dispositioned in a timely manner.
- Coordinate test reports, retrieve documents, prepare order retests as required and check and sign all reports.
- Service internal non-conformance and external customer requests and complaints and respond effectively.
- Ensure conformance to standards and customer requirements.
- Liaise with employees, customers, and suppliers on all matter relating to quality.
- Provide information on procedures, specifications and equipment capabilities to Sales, Production and Customers.
- Monitor and inspect on line and cut materials.
- Institute corrective actions as requested by customers.
- Prepare, present, negotiate and disposition claims.

**Job Requirements**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel).
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Collect, tabulate, analyze and present data.
- Ability to calibrate and use measuring equipment
- Ability to communicate with all departments, customers, suppliers, and laboratory.

**Preferable**:

- Metals Industry product knowledge.
- 2 to 5 years related industry experience.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management System.
- Post secondary education in Quality Assurance, Metallurgy and Audit systems
