**About the Role**
This role reports to the Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor and is responsible for providing daily leadership and guidance to hourly employees, while ensuring adherence to Health & Safety standards, maintaining quality control, and achieving production targets.
**Job Details**
Posting Status: Open, 1 position
Type: Permanent Full-Time
Pay Range: $25.00 - $28.00/hr (depending on experience) + benefits
Closing Date: August or until the position is filled
Location: on-site, 346 Orenda Road, Brampton, Ontario, Canada L6T 1G1
Work Hours: Afternoon Shift
Monday to Thursday 3:30pm-12:30am
Friday 1:00pm
- 10:30pm
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee daily shop floor operations, including CNC Press Brake, CNC Turret, spot welding, and paint line areas
- Ensure team adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Assist in training and mentoring production employees across all aspects of the manufacturing process
- Coordinate manpower and machine resources to meet daily production schedules as outlined by the Production Supervisor
- Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment and machine issues
- Develop and enforce daily/weekly checklists for workspace cleanliness, inventory levels, and CNC turret tool maintenance
- Actively participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) activities, including investigations of incidents, accidents, and near-misses
- Provide hands-on support by filling in for production employees when needed
- Operate a counterbalance forklift as required
- Enforce company policies consistently and professionally
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as part of routine job duties
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education & Certifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent (required);
- Post-secondary education (asset)
- Counterbalance Forklift Certification (required)
- First Aid Certification (required)
- Continuous Improvement Certification (asset)
**Experience**
- 1-2 years of experience as a lead hand in sheet metal fabrication (required)
- Experience setting up CNC Turret Punch machines (e.g., Motorum, Amada)
- Experience setting up CNC/NC Press Brake machines (e.g., Allsteel, Accurpress)
**Technical Skills**
- Proficient in interpreting 2D and 3D shop drawings
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
**Soft Skills**
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective leadership and decision-making abilities
- Sound time management and multitasking capabilities
