Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)
Effective Date: Immediately until not later than June 30, 2025

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
- proven ability to create hands-on, cross-curricular learning environments and activities that support engagement and motivation
- ability to design curriculum and deliver innovative programming in an alternate setting
- demonstrated commitment to place-based learning where community guests are invited to learning in our classrooms along with experiences where students are learning within our community
- experience creating a personalized learning environment in which individual learning needs are understood and lesson planning is differentiated to support the various needs of the students
- demonstrated commitment and experience in preparing students to transition to post-secondary training and/or career opportunities
- demonstrated ability and knowledge of strategies necessary to motivate young adults to achieve at a high level, and to inspire confidence and self-worth in adolescents
- demonstrated commitment to the use of technology to enhance effective instructional practices
- demonstrated commitment to the use of results to improve the teaching/learning process
- demonstrated skills supporting and mentoring students with project-based learning where students can work individually or collaboratively on an in-depth learning experience
- demonstrated sensitivity, awareness, and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and fostering a positive relationship with students with multiple challenges
- demonstrated ability to devise and use a variety of assessment processes (including both formative and summative assessments) that effectively allow students to demonstrate their learning
- demonstrated ability to make meaningful student connections and support students who are not attending on a regular basis
- demonstrated commitment to case managing BCIEPs and working collaboratively with staff, parents, and students to ensure all members of the student BCIEP team are involved in building and monitoring the CBIEP
- an exemplary work ethic with proven ability to work as an effective team member
- proven ability as a curricular leader including exemplary organizational and time management skills, creative problem-solving skills, effective team building skills and strong communication skills
