Disaster Restoration Technician

Our Company

We provide restoration services to properties in the London & surrounding area that have sustained damage from fires, floods, sewer backups, wind, and other disasters

Regular hours are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday and afterhours call outs as required. Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**: The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The tasks and the time spent performing each task may vary.

- **Responsibilities**:_

Work alongside a crew to perform restoration/contracting duties.
- Performing demolition including but not limited to: removing damaged or wet building materials such as flooring, baseboard, cabinets, drywall, etc
- Small painting jobs; walls, trim, doors.
- Drywalling; hang, tape, board and complete small drywall repairs.
- General carpentry - cabinetry, finishing items such as baseboards, casings, windows and doors.
- Extracting water from flooded structures using commercial extraction equipment.
- Removing contents from affected areas and assessing damage.
- Packing in/out contents.
- Setting up equipment, including dehumidifiers, large fans, additional drying and deodorizing equipment
- Take moisture readings.
- General cleaning duties as required on job sites.
- Post construction clean-ups.
- Responsible to work with the team to ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of equipment and warehouse area.
- Drywalling; hang, poly, insulate.
- Work alongside staff to perform other miscellaneous duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Valid Driver’s license **required.**
- Communicate in English both written and verbal
- Be physically capable of lifting (50 lbs.), bending and performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to take required restoration courses (i.e., water technician, working at heights, etc)
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of settings and with shifting priorities and deadlines
- Able to work well in team environments as well as independently
- Be available to work evenings/weekends as required
- Experience in the restoration/construction industry considered an asset

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Do you consider yourself to be tech savvy? This position is mainly paperless and operating software, phones, tablets, etc will be mandatory.
- This position requires lots of standing, crouching, bending, reaching, kneeling, etc. Are you capable of this kind of constant movement?

Licence/Certification:

- Ontario Drivers Licence (required)
- Working at Heights Certificate (preferred)
