Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Sourcing and Procurement, the Project Manager, Packaging, is responsible for leading the project management process to control the life cycle of packaging within Sofina. Utilizing a stage gate process to manage changes to packaging for reasons of harmonization, rationalization, cost reduction, sustainability, this position will coordinate and take an active part to ensure that all packaging transitions smoothly from concept to full production qualification.

Key Accountabilities
- Project manage the design, development, and evaluation of packaging for new and existing products
- Value stream mapping of packaging and packaging systems to ensure that packaging is fit for purpose and is optimized for cost, transport and sustainability
- Develop and manage trials to test for any magnitude of packaging change
- Maintain a database of packaging specifications
- Establish enterprise packaging standards
- Ongoing value engineering of packaging, packaging systems and methods that reduce overall cost
- Monitor all packaging changes for cost impact
- Catalogue failure modes and potential failure modes
- Maintain a register of internal and external costs relating to packaging failures
- Develop work instructions for proper packaging
- Work with operations to implement corrective action related to packaging non-conformance

**Requirements**:

- 5 plus years’ of progressive experience in project manager roles.
- Min 3 years experience in the packaging field.
- Diploma or Degree in a recognized mechanical or industrial engineering program or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- PMP designation is a must
- Exhibit strong process orientation, champion of lean,
- Be proactive combined with problem solving, and critical reasoning ability
- Willingness to travel. (10-15% of the time)
