**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The Director of the Office of the CIO is a key strategic advisor to the CIO, significantly enhancing the organization’s capabilities. Operating at a senior level, this position acts as a trusted consultant, ensuring the CIO's success and driving the overall advancement of the organization. The Director oversees all ITS staff activities, Governance, OCIO Administration, IT Communications, Leadership Communications, Employee Engagement, Strategic and Project progress, and the ITS Architect function and reports directly to AVP, CIO. In this capacity, the Director ensures alignment with the CIO’s vision, guiding the IT Leadership Team to fulfill ITS accountabilities and commitments. This strategic alignment enables the Office of the CIO (OCIO) to effectively champion critical organizational objectives. Additionally, the Director’s direct oversight of the ITS Communications Hub, Office of the PMO, ITS Architect, and Departmental Administrator ensures seamless coordination and unified execution of IT strategies.
**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences
- Knowledge of higher education challenges, business needs, and strategy drivers, as well as income streams, business processes, and capabilities
- Significant project management experience
- Knowledge of organizational development to analyze business structures, procedures, processes, and the utilization of resources and to make recommendations for improvements; experience developing and overseeing implementation.
- Experience with HR and development structures to guide the design and implementation of a variety of supporting processes such as developmental initiatives, action plans, programs, and training materials.
- Significant experience in organizational design to guide the restructuring process to increase efficiency and align resources with strategic objectives.
- Significant experience in change management methodologies and practices to lead, develop and implement change management strategies and plans to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
- Ability to act with a high level of discretion, tact, confidentiality.
**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information-technology engineering, system analysis or a related field
- Minimum of seven years of previous progressive leadership experience in Organizational development, change management, organizational and digital transformation, data analytics and benchmarking
- Experience in Coaching, Organizational Development, Project Management, creating Data Systems, and Change Management
- HR experience an asset
