**Compensation package**:$55000-$65,000/year + Benefits Package (5% RRSP match, Full Health), 4 weeks paid vacation + additional week during Christmas, 18 sick days, 5 personal days.
**Posting**:Permanent Full-time, 35 hours/week, Hybrid 2 days from home, 3 days in office

- **Position Overview**_
BBBSO seeks an innovative, results-oriented Development Officer to join the Development Team. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Officer will support the mission and growth of BBBSO through the execution of fundraising and high-quality stewardship with donors and stakeholders.
Working in a hybrid work environment (2 days at home, 3 in the office), the Development Officer will identify, cultivate and solicit mid-level gifts from individuals and corporations ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 to aid in the 1.6 million annual goal of the development team. Working closely with the Board of Directors, alumni and programs team, the Development Officer will develop prospect research strategies and cases for support while supporting the development of new digital and in-person fundraising initiatives to inspire donors into sustainable giving through shared values and goals.

- **Scope of Role**:_
The duties below are assigned as needed and additional responsibilities and backup support of a comparable nature may be required.
- **Duties & Responsibilities**:_
- Work closely with Executive Director and Development team to develop custom donor acknowledgment, recognition and stewardship strategies for senior volunteers and major donors.
- Coordinate BBBSO’s Board fundraising work, including communications and meeting preparation, organization and reports, minutes etc.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, including strategy development and 1:1 relationship building.
- Research background information on potential corporate, foundation and individual donors.
- Assist in coordinating and implementing all annual events with our third-party event planners and new digitally focused events.
- Lead sponsor/donor engagement opportunities and activities.
- Lead the creation and delivery of stewardship material and reports.
- Create compelling donor proposals based on research and donors’ relationship with the organization.
- Attend and respond to third-party requests/events as required.
- Support with the maintenance and updating of the Canada Helps database regularly.
- Support with administrative tasks, including data entry, and pulling reports from the database.
- Perform other duties to support the Development team as required.
- **Qualifications & Required Skills**:_
- University or College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fundraising professional minimum of 3-5 years of experience within a fundraising environment in a not-for-profit, soliciting mid-level gifts.
- Understanding of the prospect/donor cycle of Qualification/Cultivation/Solicitation/Stewardship.
- Ability to build and maintain new relationships with prospects, donors and volunteers:
- Skilled relationship manager, able to interact with donors, build relationships, and maintain high confidentiality.
- Experience preparing and presenting the BBBSO case for support in 1:1 meetings and group presentations.
- Highly organized with strong administrative and project management skills, juggling simultaneous priorities while adhering to deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience using relational databases and managing digital platforms and campaigns.
- Possesses high customer service skills and can work easily and effectively with staff and supporters.
