Contractor Sales Representative

Taber Home and Farm Center is looking for an energetic individual who has excellent communication and organizational skills with basic knowledge of computers. The opening is a fulltime position for a Contractor Sales representative within our company.

This individual’s basic function will be to provide customers with all the information that they need to complete their projects. The main objective will be to satisfy our retail customers by providing exceptional customer service. Familiarity with asking the necessary questions to find out what the customers full needs are, as well as getting feedback on the service provided will be imperative to your success. Managing multiple projects and deadlines is essential.

This person will stay up to date with the knowledge of products including current prices, product usage, as well as current trends in demand. They will be able to locate, order, and follow up on special ordered items. Another aspect of this position will be material take-offs for homes, decks, garages, and buildings from blueprint building plans in a timely manner.

We cross train within all areas of the store including general hardware, plumbing, electrical and building knowledge. Prior experience in sales particularly in the construction or building materials industry is an asset. A solid understanding of building materials, construction processes and industry standards is vital for building trust and loyalty with contractors.
