**Beedie Capital is a multi-strategy direct investment platform that manages the alternative investments for Beedie, one of Western Canada’s largest private companies. **Our investments range from $10M to $50M as either equity or structured debt (i.e., subordinated debt, convertible debt), primarily in the US and Canada to both public and private companies. We can invest in any sector but focus primarily on Technology and Mining.**

**Position Overview**

We are looking for an Analyst or Associate to join our team of 7 investment professionals in our Vancouver office. You will be a key member of our team and have the opportunity work on multiple transactions across a wide range of industries.

In this role, you will assist the team in all aspects of the deal process including sourcing, reviewing, executing, and monitoring investments. Our entrepreneurial environment will provide you with significant responsibility and exposure to our senior deal team, prospect company executives, and the overall private capital ecosystem.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the sourcing and qualification of investment opportunities
- Execute and build financial models to assist in investment evaluation, structuring and financing
- Participate and contribute to calls with senior management of prospect companies to further diligence efforts
- Manage the deal pipeline through our CRM platform (HubSpot)
- Monitor and analyze ongoing financial and operational performance of portfolio investments
- Prepare research and analysis in support of portfolio investments
- Support day to day business development initiatives to drive deal flow opportunities
- Lead various sector and industry analyses and stay abreast of relevant capital markets activity
- Support the preparation of detailed fund performance reporting both in both quantitative and qualitative forms

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- 2 - 5 years of experience in one of the following:

- Private Debt or Private Equity
- Fund Management (Family Office, Equity, Fixed Income)
- Venture Capital
- Investment Banking
- Equity or Debt Research
- Corporate Finance
- Corporate Development
- Demonstrated ability to understand and prepare financial models and cash flow forecasts for presentation to senior investment team
- Detailed understanding of valuation methodology, cash flow forecasts and balance sheet structuring
- Strong ability to synthesize large amounts of data into succinct written and verbal communication
- Experience in technology or mining industries preferred but not required
- Ability to multi-task across a variety of responsibilities and effectively prioritize when needed
- Able to establish and develop relationships with advisors, stakeholders, and colleagues
- Must be highly motivated, with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team of professionals
- Professional designations (MBA, CFA, CBV, CPA, or P.Eng) are an asset but not a requirement
