**Carpenter (General Repair Technician GRT)** Carpenters (GRT) at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state GRTs use the skills of carpenters, drywallers, painters and magicians Making clients believe magic has happened is all part of a day for a GRT. **Responsible for** The multi-talented GRT is skilled in the following ways: - Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts - Framing - Drywalling, mudding, sanding and finishing - Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim, landscapes, and portraiture not included) - Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing - Insulation and vapour barrier installation - Being awesome, in general - Installation - Doors - Trim, moldings, and baseboards - Hardware installation - Cabinetry **What you bring** The GRT brings a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a ‘get it done’ attitude. This is additional to scheduled daytime hours. - Are you fluent reading / writing/ speaking English? If no, please rank your skills out of 10. - Are you skilled enough to look at a rebuild claim, understand the scope of work from start to finish, and complete all tasks? Describe your experience. **Experience**: - home renovation: 1 year (preferred) - brush and roller painting: 1 year (preferred) - installing and repairing cabinets: 1 year (preferred) - ceiling installation (knockdown and texturing): 1 year (preferred) - drywalling, mudding, sanding and finishing: 1 year (preferred) - trim carpentry: 1 year (preferred) - installation (hardware, doors, trim, moulding, baseboards: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: - Canadian Driver's License (required) Work Location: In person
