Based in a new facility in Dartmouth Crossing, this full-time, permanent position is ideal for an enthusiastic and qualified individual eager to join our Production team.
The Production Floor Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing daily production functions, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety on the production floor. The Production Floor Supervisor is responsible for coordinating workflow, monitoring production schedules, managing KPI’s & SOP’s, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. The Production Floor Supervisor is a strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and quality in floral processing and packaging.
- Supervise, train, and mentor production staff, ensuring adherence to job roles, safety procedures, and workflow expectations.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, addressing employee concerns and maintaining team morale.
- Monitor workflow to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, waste reduction, and minimized downtime.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for floral handling, processing, and packaging.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Production Manager.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure flowers meet freshness and presentation standards.
- Provide management with updates on production status, product defects, challenges, and operational improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of production performance, employee attendance, and incident reports.
- Lead team meetings to discuss production goals, process improvements, and operational concerns.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and perishable materials.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents.
- Conduct safety training and meetings to reinforce best practices in floral inventory handling.
- Ensure production equipment (floral coolers, cutting tools, bucket fillers, and carts) is properly maintained and schedule repairs as needed.
- Optimize resource use, ensuring cost-effective management of floral supplies and packaging materials.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurate and complies with company policies and legal requirements.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education is a plus.
- Minimum 2-5 years of supervisory experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse settings. (Experience with perishable products considered an asset.)
- Strong team management, training, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication for coordinating with staff and management.
- Familiarity with production workflows, quality control, safety regulations, and process improvements. Experience with production equipment and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production tracking software.
- Experience & ability to monitor and analyze KPIs for efficiency improvements.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work flexible hours during peak seasons.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
