Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Flooring Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, including experience with various materials such as hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile and carpet. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints to ensure precise installation. The Flooring Installer will work on residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Install various types of flooring materials including Hardwood, laminate, Vinyl, tile and carpet.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
  • Prepare surfaces for installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayment.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and fitting flooring materials.
  • Perform caulking and finishing touches to ensure a polished final product.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and within deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in flooring installation or related construction fields.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to flooring work.
  • Knowledge of Hardwood and tile laying techniques and carpentry skills is preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints accurately for effective project execution.
  • Previous maintenance person experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Dartmouth, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Flooring installation: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
