Destination Canada is looking for a **Communication Coordinator** to join our international team as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.
Under the direction of the Senior Director, Corporate Communications, the Communications Coordinator supports a fast-paced, multi-faceted team responsible for supporting strong engagement with tourism stakeholders from coast to coast to coast, and a positive reputation for Destination Canada. The role is an exciting mix of project support and project management, team administration, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and shareholder engagement. The coordinator engages with stakeholders in order to coordinate communications, arrange meetings, supports on presentations and is responsible for supporting communications channels such as the corporate website, corporate social media channels, the industry newsletter (DC News), and industry webinars, among others.

**DUTIES**:
- Assists with project coordination or management, which may involve multiple units to ensure all components of projects are successfully completed
- Assists with preparing, reviewing and proof reading documents, reports and presentations
- Supports stakeholder outreach (organize meetings, notes, updates); monitoring news, social media and related administration
- Builds networks internally to DC and externally to help advance team projects and priorities
- Monitoring, tracking, analyzing and summarizing federal government announcements; parliamentary activities (committees, legislation and news conferences) and news coverage of policies related to tourism.
- Performs other related duties
**Essential Qualifications**
**EDUCATION**: Completion of the majority of courses to obtain a degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. communications, political science, public relations or government relations) or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience (including a university/college co-op program)
- Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in preparing and editing information products, presentations and report
- Experience monitoring, managing and posting on social media channels (LinkedIn and Twitter)
- Significant experience in using Microsoft Office Suite at an advanced level (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Mailchimp platform
- drafting, setting up and distributing e-campaigns, newsletter
- Some experience in government relations/public affairs, relations with the Government of Canada is an asset.
**KNOWLEDGE**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with highly developed follow-up skills
- Self-starter with initiative to embrace ambiguity
- Knowledge of social media and/or digital platforms
**ABILITIES**:
- Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to remain efficient and supportive in a fast-paced environment
- High level of interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong problem-solving techniques
