We continue to grow and today are looking for a committed, talented, star to join our team as our **National Sales** **Manager**.**
**Purpose of Position**
The National Sales Manager, Natural & Retail (NSM) leads and develops a high performing team consisting of Sales Representatives and Brand Ambassadors covering the Natural retail head office accounts nationally and the Grocery, Drug and Mass retail stores in key cities.
The NSM establishes the Natural Channel strategy, goals and priorities for Sales Representatives to execute and, in consultation with the Account Sales team, also establishes the Retail objectives/priorities for both Sales Representatives and Brand Ambassadors that contribute toward achievement of overall organizational objectives in Grocery, Drug and Mass stores.
The role is significant and complex in terms of business acumen, problem solving and process management as well as people management.
Other channels will also develop within this team (e.g. Food Service penetration in collaboration with Key Account Manager).
**Duties & Responsibilities**

- Manage and develop direct reports showing compassion and **HUMILITY.**:
- Be hands-on with Sales Representatives and Brand Ambassadors: actively engage with Natural Accounts customer meetings, attend retail work-withs, coach on annual planning, provide training on sales/business acumen including setting sales and trade targets with Sales Representatives for the Natural Accounts and coverage, call cycles, steps of the call for best-in-class execution and priorities for the Brand Ambassadors.
- Help to establish **RESPECT**, confidence and collaboration between this team and the Key Account Team
- Take **OWNERSHIP** to develop plans and strategies to meet or exceed the company’s financial and consumption and distribution/listing targets.
- Creates a cadence of KPIs and reporting on a regular basis to ensure success
- Monitor competitive and market activity and provide feedback and recommendations to executive team.
- Compile and review quantitative sales data and react rapidly to changing trends or new competitive threats and opportunities.
- Ensure Sales Representatives and Brand Ambassadors execute against planning tactics of:
- Distribution: Utilize Priority Ranking List to close/expand distribution on core voids.
- Shelving: Work Closely with Category Management team to understand best shelving principles to share with retailers
- Merchandising: Help Sales Representatives create merchandising and promotional programs with retailers that complement RNF strategies, tactics, and programs
- Pricing: Work with retailers on pricing guidelines & guardrails as communicated through Sales Planning & Strategy (on everyday pricing and promoted)
- Present all Innovation in a timely manner, creating plans for quick speed-to-market.
- Assist in effectively managing trade spend against assigned trade budgets.
- Oversee team in following trade compliance and deduction processes.
- Leads the development of more effective in store tools to drive retail impact consistent with an integrated head office/retail program**.**:
- Responsible for ensuring that sales costs incurred are maintained within budget such as travel expenses, samples, premiums, and retail tools and company vehicles for team.
- Work with team to properly manage forecasting on an accurate and consistent basis.
- Attend key trade shows.
- Travel required 35% +
- Keeps the work atmosphere **FUN** by keeping it light and welcoming.

**Education & Qualifications**
- Prefer University degree or college diploma in Business.
- 5+ years of progressive sales experience in CPG overseeing Field sales teams and preferably experience within the organic / health food industry
