Daycare Chef

**Location**: Somerset, Calgary, AB
**Hours**: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM (6.5 hours/day, 30-minute break from 1:00 - 1:30 PM)
**Employment Type**: Full-Time

**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with Alberta’s nutritional guidelines for childcare facilities.
- Plan menus that accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and cultural preferences.
- Ensure food safety and proper storage procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Order and manage kitchen inventory within budget.
- Collaborate with daycare staff to create a positive mealtime experience for children.
- Assist in basic kitchen clean-up, including dishwashing and sanitization.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role (experience in a childcare or school setting is an asset).
- Knowledge of nutrition and meal planning for young children.
- Food Handling Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A warm and friendly demeanour with a passion for supporting children's well-being.
- Level 1 ECE certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
