**Salary**: $3,655.42 to $4,987.54 bi-weekly ($95,406 - $130,174/year)
Forestry and Parks - Responsible for growing our manufactured wood products and forestry sector, preserving, and managing our public lands and protected areas. Protected areas are essential to the quality of life that Albertans enjoy. They conserve our natural landscapes and wildlife habitat and offer a broad range of nature-based outdoor recreational opportunities. **Role Responsibilities**:
Consider joining us in a dynamic leadership role as the Land, Ecosystems and Conservation Manager - North, where you will play a critical role in driving the successful implementation of Regional and Sub-Regional Plans to meet landscape and ecosystem objectives. Reporting to the Recreation, Ecosystem and Land Management Director of Lands Delivery and Coordination North, you will lead regional coordination efforts, engage key stakeholders, and navigate complex regulatory environments. This position provides a unique opportunity to lead a diverse and skilled team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction in land management, ecosystem oversight, and conservation initiatives, aligned with Regional and Sub-Regional Plans.
- Lead and mentor a team of specialists in delivering habitat restoration programs and managing Alberta’s conservation lands.
- Collaborate with government agencies, municipalities, Indigenous Peoples, and regulatory bodies to support integrated land management and deliver environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support cross-regional initiatives and foster effective partnerships.
- Support the Department’s Crown Land watercourse crossing program and evaluate Crown Land availability to facilitate provincial economic opportunities.
- Contribute expertise to the development and implementation of public-facing local planning initiatives focused on land and ecosystem management.
- Drive the successful achievement of the Ministry’s business plan objectives, advancing the sustainable management of Alberta’s landscapes and natural resources.

**Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications:
- Completed university degree (4 years) in resource management, environmental sciences, environmental or natural resource law, or a related field.
- Minimum of six years of directly related experience, including senior leadership roles.
Equivalency: Related education or experience may be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of experience or vice versa.
**Assets**:
- Strong understanding of Public Lands Act legislations, regulations, and frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead a diverse and specialized team, managing complex plans, programs, and functions over a large geographic area, while ensuring alignment with legislative responsibilities and business priorities.
- A track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous Peoples, industry representatives, government agencies, and the public, demonstrating strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
