Medical Office Assistant

Vivo Cura Healthcare is a multidisciplinary MSK pain management clinic focused on treating patients with muscle and joint pain. Our philosophy is that every member of the Vivo Cura team has a unique and important role to play as we try to accomplish our mission: to empower people in pain so they can get back to living. We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant for our Central Calgary location who shares this philosophy and can grow with us. Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for overseeing various patient-facing responsibilities and helping coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Answer phone calls and interact with patients as their first and ongoing point of contact
- Schedule appointments
- Liaise with other care providers regarding referred patients
- Update electronic medical record system with appropriate information as needed
- Ensure patient records and files are accurate and current
- Deliver impeccable customer service to patients, clinic staff and referring physicians
- Maintain and respect patient confidentiality at all times
- Warmly greet and register patients upon arrival.
- Issue patient invoices/receipts
- Provide assistance to clinicians while they assess and treat patients.
- Provide coverage for the Patient Coordinator when required.
- Review reports and ensure reports are completed/delivered in a timely fashion
- Billing Alberta Health, private-pay patients, WCB and Third Parties
- Adhere to Vivo Cura Health policies, procedures and protocols
- Various other clerical administrative duties as required

**Education and Experience**
- Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant program, and/or
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Office experience preferred
- Experience with MSK an asset
- Software literacy: experience utilizing EMR and other healthcare related software, preference given to those with experience using Accuro
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
