Overview:
The Quality Management Systems (QMS) Leader develops, maintains and deploys Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) Policies and Procedures within the organization. Supports Regional MQMs, Supplier Management, Consumer Care and Bakery QA teams across multiple sites. Overall, ensures our corporate documentation is compliant to all Wonderbrands, GFSI-BRC, HACCP, customer and regulatory requirements. Training FSQ and cross functional teams on the policies and procedures, on an ongoing basis, including establishing a training matrix and verification/competency assessments.

Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Leads the development of new policies and procedures, to ensure compliance to new standards, to meet Wonderbrands requirements and regulatory compliance, including BRC and customer standards.
- Optimizes, improves and maintains the Sharepoint document control system to ensure the system is user friendly for different functional users across the organization.
- Plans, schedules and deploys policies and procedures reviews with the key internal stakeholders efficiently and effectively.
- Develops and maintains adherence to master documentation review schedules, change management processes and training requirements for all approved policies and procedures.
- Plan and schedule the GFSI BRC audits with the certifying body for the Wonderbrands bakeries and maintains a record of same.
- Lead and organize quarterly reviews with the Certifying Body. CB Liaison
- Manage and coordinate the scheduling of customer-specific audits with the bakery teams.
- Support BRC audit preparation for the bakeries and supports the Corporate BRC audit.
- Assists with the development and implementation of GFSI/BRC/Regulatory standards and procedures.
- Keep informed on BRC, food safety laws and regulation changes and update the QMS programs accordingly based on impact and risk to the organization.
- Updates the FSQ leadership team on any regulatory, customer or GFSI-BRC FSQ updates Support the development and continuous improvement of internal audit tools (e.g. templates, checklists) for use in the bakery network.
- Ability to verify activities against the documented procedures/forms/etc. and determine the root cause to establish permanent sustainable solutions/fixes.
- Maintain the BRC audit non-conformance tracker and follow up directly with the MQMs to establish communication of trends and if procedures/policies need to be reviewed updated or retraining is required.
- Identify opportunities ongoing to standardize, streamline and optimize corporate policies and procedures.
- Identify best practices and sharing in the region and nationally with peers.
- Other responsibilities as assigned or re-assessed.
- Back up for the QMS Manager.
- Requirements:

- Take initiative and is self-driven to lead the QMS program to high standard that is sustainable.
- QMS/Policy/Procedure experience, including document control programs and change management.
- Strong interpersonal, influence and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively.
- Excellent oral and written English skills.
- Be capable to work with French translation organizations to ensure all documentation is in French, in addition to English.
- Capable to engage employees and be open to feedback to support continuous improvement in the FSQ function.
- Demonstrate ability to multitask and be able to change priorities, depending on the business need, yet be efficient and effective.
- Demonstrate critical thinking capability to assess risk and navigate thru unique or escalated food safety/quality situations.
- Is action driven, high energy and understands how to work in a fast-paced work environment (make and ship).
- Travel may be required at times (approx. 20 percent).
- Needs to be very organized and a person who can communicate effectively to seek understanding and clarity of purpose.
- Training on BRC, HACCP, and SFCR with certificate - either in house or through a third party.
- Strong trainer who can engage employees in enable attendees to understand key take away which pertain to their roles.

**Education**:

- Knowledge of GFSI (preferably BRC), SFCA (Safe Foods for Canadians Act), FSMA, FDA, food safety (HACCP) programs, Preventive Controls, and Quality Systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Microbiology or a similar discipline with equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years QA experience, with demonstrated QMS leadership in a food and/or beverage plant.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and SharePoint experience. eQCMS, Power BI, intelex experience is an asset.
