**Construction Materials Testing Manager**

Outcome Consultants Inc. (OCI) is currently seeking a driven and results oriented individual to
lead its materials testing group operating at remote construction projects throughout Canada.
This position involves the following responsibilities:
Hiring, training, and supervising materials technicians to meet project requirements

Managing and coordinating a group of engineers and technicians carrying out materials
testing for the production and placement of aggregates and concrete

Overseeing the materials testing at construction sites, including soil testing for grain
size, standard proctor tests, compaction testing, and concrete testing, and carrying out
quality assurance reviews of test results for reporting

Troubleshooting real-time compliance issues in the field and monitoring non-compliance
protocols and liaising with client and contractor representatives and staff to ensure that
all quality issues are documented and resolved

Establishing and overseeing the maintenance of testing laboratories at remote
construction sites

Organization and maintenance of testing equipment and vehicles required at
construction sites

Working closely with other managers for various outputs, including cost estimates and
related content for proposals, resource and financial planning

Plan and coordinate site-wide inspection and testing operations.

Prepare and review project Inspection & Testing Plans (ITP) and other plans to cover
quality control requirements for various scope elements and all project phases

Participate in independent quality assurance oversight, surveillance, and witnessing of
field activities and installations.

Qualifications required for this position includes the following:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the materials testing field

A technical diploma from an accredited post-secondary school in Canada

A Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation (preferred)

Management experience (preferred)

Excellent interpersonal skills and detailed oriented

A valid Class 5 Drivers License and a clean driving record.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45-55 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week (varies based on construction season)

Supplemental pay types:
Variable compensation (bonus pay)

Overtime pay or time-off in lieu of overtime pay

Work Location: Frequent travel to remote construction sites to oversee project activities during
construction season, and otherwise, office work at OCI Ottawa office and/or home office
