**Inbound Transportation Planner**:
Our team in **Brampton** currently has an opening for a **Inbound Transportation Planner**

**YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Reporting Structure**:
This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager, Operations. There are no direct reports to this position.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Performs role in a manner that is reflective of Brenntag’s Core Values, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs and expectations.
- Ensures a safe work environment at all times, reporting unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor and/or site manager.
- Coordinates all incoming shipments for the Product Coordinators, ensuring movement of products inbound to Brenntag facilities and direct to customer, for bulk and packaged products.
- Effectively communicates with partner carriers with an understanding of modes, (LTL, TL, Rail, Road) services and equipment, to ensure appropriate on time performance.
- Supports Site Shipping in the selection of carriers, effectively communicating with bulk and packaged operations staff, fleet staff and customer service.
- Coordinates order documentation to ensure product shipping, border and receiving compliance.
- Monitors all orders from pick-up to delivery to meet customer requirements, managing expectations and ensuring discrepancies and changes are communicated appropriately.
- Negotiates freight costs for orders, benchmarking against internal and external criteria; effectively communicating options of service and cost to meet customer requirements in a timely manner.
- Responds to proposed business opportunities and freight rate requests by investigating and providing freight pricing, routing and options of service.
- Manages situations involving shipment exceptions and demurrage, resolving and clearly communicating to appropriate stakeholders and escalating to management in a timely manner.
- Completes other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Manager.

**YOUR PROFILE**:
**Technical Competencies**:

- Post-Secondary Education; College Diploma in Logistics or equivalent would be preferred
- Previous 3 - 5 years experience in freight coordination with knowledge of North American shipping of bulk and packaged products (preferably in the Chemical Industry)
- Sound skills in the use of Microsoft Tools, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Previous experience with SAP, would be considered an asset
